In their first showcase tournament of the fall the 16u and 18u Giants finished 1st and 2nd over all, both winning their gold bracket play to face off for the first time ever in an all Birmingham Giants Final. The 16u Birmingham Giants rolled through pool play winning their games by a collective score of 21-5. In their first game of pool play, the 16u Birmingham Giants faced off with the Aftershock. The Giant offense provided 9 runs on 8 hits, including hits from Hannah Vines (2), Tess Mitchell (1), Abby Waters (1), Skylar Street (1), Ka’Mya Hampton (1, 2b), and Raley Vines (2). In the Circle Raley Vines (1-0) went the distance striking out 8, while allowing just the 3 runs.

The Giants totalled 8 hits, including hits from Hanna Vines (1), Abby Waters (1), Maci Harris (1), Sarah Grace Moore (2), Skylar Street (1), Ka’Mya Hampton (1), Kennedy Jackson (1), and Catherine Couch (1). Skylar Street (1-0) allowed just 1 hit over 4 innings, while striking out 4 for the win. The win seated the Giants 16u in first going into bracket play.

In the semi final of bracket play the 16U Birmingham Giants faced off with the Slammers. Raley Vines (2-0) continued to dominate in the circle striking out 4 and allowing just a single hit and run in the 2-1 win. The Giants offense pounded out 5 hits to produce the 2 runs, Hannah Vines (1), Sarah Grace Moore (1), Abby Waters (2), and Kennedy Jackson (2) all had hits for the Giants. The Win moved the 16u Birmingham Giants into the finals to face a familiar opponent.

GIANT POLOGROUNDSThe 18u Birmingham Giants opened their showcase with the the Twisters 18u team. Grace Graham (1-0) allowed just 5 hits and 2 earned runs in picking up the win. Offensively the Giants were paced by Kelsey English (1), Hannah Pritchett (2, 1 3b), Dalton Merrill (1), Rachael McKinney (1, 2b), Shelby Morgan (2, 1 2b), and Jewel Mealing (1), the 6-5 win marked the Giants at 1-0 going into their 2nd game of pool play.

In game 2 Hannah Pritchett (1-0) took the circle and allowed just 2 hits over 4 innings, while striking out 2, and hits from Kelsey English (2), Hannah Pritchett (3, 1 3b), Dalton Merrill (2), Racheal McKinney (2), Shelby Morgan (2b), Anne Graham (1), Jewel Mealing (2b) and Alexis Griffin (2) producing the 7 runs in the 7-2 win. The win seated the Giants 2nd going into bracket play.

GIANT POLOGROUNDSIn bracket play, the Giants 18u were matched up with southern heat. After 5 innings, the game was GIANT POLOGROUNDSlocked in a 3-3 tie sending it to international tie breaker. Grace Graham (2-0) scatter 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 for the wins, and hits came from Kelsey English (3), Hannah Pritchett (1), Shelby Morgan (2, 2b), Dalton Merrill (2, 1 2b), Jewel Mealing (1), and Alexis Griffin (1) and Anne Graham (1) who drove in the winnings runs to propel the Giants in to the finals to face the Birmingham Giants 16u and set up an all Giants Final!

Hannah Pritchett (2-0) picked up the win in the first ever finals meeting between the 2 teams, and Giant hits came from Hannah Pritchett (2, 1 2b), Shelby Morgan (2b), Rachael McKinney (2 2b), Grace Graham (2b), Dalton Merrill (1), Jewel Mealing (2b), Hannah Vines (1), and Abby Waters (2b).
