Birmingham Giants 9U Grab Title

Playing in their second kid pitch tournament of the fall season the fall season the Birmingham Giants 9u rolled off a 4-0 record, bringing their season record to 6-1 on their way to the championship in Alabaster on saturday. In their opening game of pool play, the Giants faced off with the Brewers. Brayden Helms started the game on the mound allowing just 1 hit while striking out 6, and Cam Buford closed out the final 2 innings by striking out 5 in the 4-0 win. Offensively the Giants received hits from Brayden Helms (2B), Will Shoults (1),and Miles Sanders (1) in the win.

In game 2 of pool play the Giants were matched up with the Future Prospects. Brons Anderson Jr started the game on the hill allowing just 2 hits and 1 run over 3 innings, while striking out 2, and Ethan Passmore finished the final inning striking out 2 as the Giants went on to a 7-2 win. At the plate, Brons Anderson jr(2), Brayden Helms (1), Cam Bufford(1), Will Shoults (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), Tanner Egan (1), Luke Francis (1) and Tahj Salaam (1) all had hits for the Giants to drive in the 7 runs. the win seated the giants first overall heading into bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play, Tanner Egan allowed just 1 hits and no runs while striking out 3 over 3 innings and Braeden Wainwright closed out the final 2 innings striking out 3as the Giants won 8-0, moving them into the championship game. At the plate, Brons Anderson Jr (2), Brayden Helms (2, 1 2B), Will Shoults (3B), Tanner Egan (1), Miles Sanders (1), Ethan Passmore (2B), and Tahj Salaam (2, 1 2B) all had hits for the Giants in the win, which sent the Giants to the championship game.

In the Championship game the Giants again faced off with the Future Prospect team. In the championship game Ethan Passmore tossed a complete game allowing just 2 hits while striking out 12 as the Giants won 8-2. Brons Anderson Jr (1), Brayden Helms (2 2B), Cam Bufford (2), Will Shoults (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), Tanner Egan (2, 1 2B), Landon Coleman (2B), and Ethan Passmore (1) all had hits in the win.
