14u Birmingham Giants finish 2nd


Playing in Alabaster on sunday the Birmingham Giants 14u Baseball team posted a 3-1 record finishing 2nd over all. In game 1 Jacob Isom allowed just 1 hit over 3 innings while striking out 4 and Sylas Amick (2), Dakots Cobb (1), Addison Goodman(1) and Anerson Mcbride all had hits as the Giants defeated the Bird Dogs 5-2.

In game 2 of pool play, the Giants faced off with the Alabama 9 Spikes. Dakota Cobb allowed just 3 hits and 2 earned runs over 4 innings, and Braylen Hudson (1), Addison Goodman (2, 1 2b), Sylas Amick (1), Bayden Carroll (1), Jacob Isom (1), and CJ Okon (1) all had hits for the Giants as they out hit their opponent 7-3 and took home the win 7-4. The win seated the Giants first overall going into Gold bracket play.

In bracket play the Giants were again matched with the Bird Dogs, and once again, the Giants used 6 hits, Braylen Hudson (1), Addison Goodman (1), JB Landrum (1), CJ Okon (1), and Braydon Carroll (1) had hits to power the offense. Addison Goodman allowed just 1 hits over 4 innings, while striking out 7 in the 8-1 win. The win moved the Giants into the championship game to face the Beehive.

Dawson shoults started the game on the mound, and Egan Lowery closed out the final 3 innings of the 4-2 loss. While allowing 3 hits, the Giants managed just 2 , Addison Goodman (1) and Dawson Shoults (1) had the hits in the loss.
