8u Birmingham Giants win another championship

The Birmingham Giants 8u Baseball ran their season record to 11-1, sweeping 4 in a row to bring home another championship this fall, their 3rd of the fall. In their opening game of pool play, the Giants started off with Right way baseball. The Giants wasted little time, jump out to a 6-4 lead after the first inning, before coasting to a 14-4 win. Mason Jones (2), Braylen Helms (2), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Braeden Wainwright (2), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (3), and Tahj Salaam (2) all had hits in the win for the Giants.

In game 2 of pool play, the Giants were matched up with Vestavia Red. Once again the Giants wasted no time jumping out to an 8-2 lead after 2 innings, before finishing with a 16-3 victory. Offensively Mason Jones (2), Brayden Helms (3), Cam Buford (2), Will Shoults (3), Braeden Wainwright (3), Tanner Egan (2), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (1), Ethan Passmore (1), and Tahj Salaam (2) all had hits to power the offensive outburst and bring the Giants the win. The win seated the Giants first overall going into bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play, the Giants trailed most of the way, until Braeden Wainwright (3, HR) tied the game with a home run to straight away centerfield, and Will Shoults (3) drove in the winning runs, bouncing a shot off the top of the fence. The Giants offrnse also received hits from Mason Jones (3), Brayden Hems (2), Cam Buford (3), Tanner Egan (2, Luke Francis (3), Landon Coleman (2), and Tahj Salaam (3). The 16-15 walk off win sent the Giants to the championship game to face stix baseball.

In the championship game the Giants jumped out to an 8-2 lead through 3 innings, finishing with a 13-10 win. Mason Jones(3), Brayden Helms (3), Cam Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Braeden Wainwright (1), Tanner Egan (1), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (3), Ethan Passmore (1), and Tahj Salaam (1) all had hits as the giants brought home another championship.
