9u Baseball brings home 2nd in 2nd kid pitch tournament

Playing in their second kid pitch tournament in Helena, the Birmingham Giants 9u Baseball team brought home 2nd, posting a 3-1 mark. In game 1 of pool play the Giants were matched up with the Vestavia Cavaliers. In a game that was not close the Giants used a 5 run first inning to cruise to a 15-0 win. The Giants offense was paced by JB Fowler (1), Aaron Robinson (1), Elijah Lackey (1), and Tyson Latham (1) all had hits in the win. Tylan Floyd hurled 2 shout innings, and Landon Kyle closed out the final 2 innings for the win.

In game 2 of pool play the Giants took on Top Gun Baseball, and with 6 runs in the first 3 inning the Giants jumped out to a 6-2 lead, finishing with a 12-8 win. At the plate Justin hill (2, 1 2b), Ross Christy (2, 1 2b), Tylan Floyd (3, 1 HR), JB Fowler (1), Landon Kyle (2), Elijah Lackey (2), Tyson Latham (2, 1 2b), and Kameron Laws (1) all had hits for the Giants. JB Fowler started the game tossing 2 innings before Elijah Lackey came on to close out the final 2 innings. The win seated the Giants first overall heading into bracket play to again play the Cavaliers.

Aaron Robinson allowed just 3 walks over 3 innings and tossed the Giants 63rd no hitter all time. at the Plate Justin Hill (2), Ross Christy (2), Tylan Floyd (2), JB Fowler (1), Aaron Robinson (2), Elijah Lackey (2), Tyson Latham (1), and Kameron Laws (2) all had hits in the 16-1 win. The win sent the Giants to the championship game.

In the championship game the Giants stranded the tying run on 3b, falling 5-4. Landon Kyle tossed 3 great innings on the mound, and Tylan Floyd relieved him throwing 2 more, and at the plate Tylan floyd (2), Landon Kyle (1), Elijah Lackey (1), and Tyson Latham (2) all had hits for the Giants despite coming up just short of the win.
