7u Birmingham Giants Grab 2nd, in their second Tournament

The Birmingham Giants 7u Baseball team ran their season record to 6-1 in florence on saturday, turning in a 2nd place finish. In game 1 of their pool play, the Giants were matched with the Tupelo Rangers, and after jumping out to an early 9-6 lead, cruised to a 15-7 win. At the plate Will Shoults (2, 1 HR) hit the teams first home run of the season, and Tanner Egan (2), Brayden Helms (2), Camden Buford (3), Luke Francis (2), Landon Coleman (1), Mason Ganey (2), Aiden Alexander (2), and Braylen Parker (1) all had hits for the Giants in the win.

In their second game of pool play, the Giants faced off with the Tiger Elite 7u, and after jumping out to an early 9-2 lead, the Giants closed the game out with a 7 run 3rd inning for the 16-6 win. Offensively the Giants were led by Tanner Egan (3), Brayden Helms (3), Camden Buford (3), Will Shoults (2), Luke Francis (1), Wesley Mullins (1), Landon Coleman (1), Mason Ganey (1), Aiden Alexander (2), Braylen Parker (1), and Easton Scott (1). The win seated the Giants first over all going into bracket play for the second week in a row to face the Tombigbee Tribe 7u.

In their semi final game, the Giants 7u jumped out to a commanding 7 run lead to start the game and never looked back as they ran off with a 14-0 win. At the plate, Tanner Egan (1), Brayden Helms (2), Camden Buford (1), Will Shoults (2), Luke Francis (2), Wesley Mullins (2), Landon Coleman (2), Mason Ganey (2), Aiden Alexander (2), and Easton Scott (1). all had hits for the Giants as they reached the Championship game for the second week in a row.

In the Championship game the Giants were again paired up with the Tupelo Rangers, and in a game that went back and forth, the Giants eventually came up on the short end of a 27-18 shoot out. At the plate Tanner Egan (3), Brayden Helms (3), Camden Buford (3), Will Shoults (3), Luke Francis (2), Wesley Mullins (3), Landon Coleman (2), Mason Ganey (2), and Aiden Alexander (3) all had hits as the Giants suffered the first defeat of the season, placing second.
