10u Birmingham Giants finish 2nd


The Birmingham Giants 10u  Softball team raised their season record to 26-14-2 on the season with the completing of their latest tournament on saturday in Millbrook, where they finished 2nd. In game 1 of pool play the Giants were matched with Diamond Softball.  Offensively the Giants were led by Sophie Grromko (1), Kaydence Hays (2), Ryleigh Hall (1),  and Chloe Condray (1) all had hits and Kylie Snowden struck out 2 over 2 innings of the 3-3 tie. 


In game 2 of pool play the Giants were scheduled to play Freedom Fast pitch. Alyna Morgan started the game in the circle, tossing 3 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out 4, and Kylie Snowden closed out the final inning striking out 2. At the plate, the Giants received hits from Piper Rowe (1), Kaydence Hays (2), and Ryleigh Hall (1) in their second 3-3 tie of the day.

Moving into bracket play, the Giants were again schedule to play Freedom Fast Pitch. Kylie Snowden started the game in the circle, striking out 7 over 4 innings, allowing just 1 hit and 1 run in the 5-1 win. At the Plate, Alyna Morgan (2), Piper Rowe (1), Sophie Gromko (2), Ryliegh Hall (1), Chloe Condray (1), and Hailey Nichols (1) all had hits to drive in the Giants 5 runs.

The win moved the Giants into the finals to face  Troy Fury.  After 13 hours and numerous delays the Championship game finally started. Kylie Snowden struck out 5 over 3 innings and Kaydence Hays (1), and Sophie Gromko had hits for the Giants as they came up short 9-8.
