10u Birmingham Giants start with 6 in a row, bring home first championship

After 2 wins on opening day in Pleasant Grove, the Birmingham Giants 10u played in their first tournament of the spring season in Cullman Alabama. Yates Crawford started the first game of pool play on the mound, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 2over 2 innings, and Mason Jones closed out the final 2 innings, striking out 5. At the plate Mason Jones (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), Cam Buford (1), Brons Anderson (2), Luke Francis (1), Miles Sanders (1), and Yates Crawford (1) all had hits as the Giants rolled to an 18-4 win. In game 2 of pool play, Braeden Wainwright started the game on the mound, striking out 2 over 2 innings and Brons Anderson closed out the final 2 innings with 3 strike outs in the 10-1 win. Offensively Mason Jones (1), Tanner Egan (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), Berdis Blanding (1), Luke Francis (2), and Will Shoults (1) all had hits in the Giants win. The win seated the Giants first over all heading into bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play, Ethan Passmore started the game on the mound, stiking out 1 over his inning of work, Tanner Egan allowed just 1 hits and struck out 2 over 2 innings and Cam Buford closed out the final inning of the 9-1 win. Mason Jones (2), Braeden Wainwright (2), Cam Buford (2), Berdis Blanding (1), and Yated Craford (1) all had hits for the Giants. The win moved the Giants into the championship to face off with Hoover Havoc.

Ethan Passmore started the final game for the Giants, striking out 5 over 3 innings and Cam Buford closed out the final innings for the Giants in the 8-0 shut out win. Offensively the Giants were paced by Mason Jones (2), Braeden Wainwright (1), Berdis Blanding (1), Miles Sanders (1), Noah Whitt (1), and Will Shoults (1) who all had hits for the Giants in the win.
