Birmingham Giants 14u Baseball-Cooley Finish First.


Rolling off 4 straight victories on their way to their first championship of the fall, the Birmingham Giants 14u Cooley allowed just 3 runs over the 4 games to ensure the victory. Jaxon Bragg started the first game of pool play on the mound, allowing just 1 hit over 4 innings while striking out 2, and hits from Connor Cassidy (2B), Caleb Reed (1), Olen Bryant (2B), Brody Butler (1), Ivan Pruitt (1) and Bradley Wainwright (1) to power the Giants to the 10-0 win.

In their second game of pool play, Caleb Bailey and Connor Cassidy combined to allow just 2 runs over 5 innings while striking out 4, and hits from Connor Cassidy (1), Will Dutton (1), Caleb Reed (2, 1 2B), Ivan Pruitt(1), Kason Munoz (1), and Jaxon Bragg (1) led the Giants to the 5-2 victory over Arsenal. The win moved the highly seated Giants into bracket play to again face Arsenal.

In the first bracket play game the Giants Jake Holderfield allowed just 2 hits and no runs over 5 innings and Connor Cassidy (1), Will Dutton (2), Caleb Reed (2B), Aubrey Sanders (1), Jake Holderfield (2), Ivan Pruitt (1), Kason Munoz (2), and Bradley Wainwright (1) all had hits as the Giants rolled to the 8-0 win. The win moved the Giants into the finals to face off with the undefeated Birmingham Giants -White team.

In the finals Olen Bryant allowed just 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5, and hits from Connor Cassidy (1), Caleb Reed (1), Kason Munoz (1), Aubrey Sanders (2, 1 2B), Brody Butler (2, 1 2B), Ivan Pruitt (1) and Caleb Bailey (1) all had hits in the hard fought 5-1 win. The win itself finished the Giants first and second overall in the tournament with a combined 7-1 record.
