9u Birmingham Giants Baseball finish second, Passmore sets new 10-under strike out mark.

Running their fall record to 16-2-1 the Birmingham Giants 9u Baseball team finished 2nd in Montevallo on sunday night. Starting the day, the Giants were matched with Tc Tusk for their first pool play game. Braeden Wainwright started the game on the mound, and Tanner Egan and Ethan Passmore closed out the final 2 innings of the 9-7 win. Mason Jones (2,1 2B),, Cam Buford (2),and Brons Anderson (1) all had hits in the win.

In their second pool play game the Giants were matched up with D3. Will Shoults started the game on the mound, and Brons Anderson and Tanner Egan closed out the final 2 innings of the 7-7 tie. Mason Anderson (3, 1 2b, 1 3B), Will Shoults (2, 1 2B), Braeden Wainwright (2B), Ethan Passmore (2B),and Tahj Salaam (1) all had hits for the Giants in the 7-7 tie. Their 1-0-1 record in pool play seated the Giants 3rd overall going into bracket play.

In bracket play the Giants again faced off with D3. Cam Buford started the game on the hill, and Tanner Egan closed out the final 2 innings of the 9-6 win. Mason Jones (2, 1 HR, 1 2B), Brayden Helms (1), Cam Buford (1), Will Shoults (1), Ethan Passmore (2B), and Luke Francis (1) and Landon Coleman(1) all had hits in the win. The win moved the Giants into the championship game to again face the TC Tusk.

In the Championship game, Ethan Passmores 15 strike outs over 5 innings was not enough as the Giants fell 4-2. The 15 strike outs in a new under 10u club record. Mason Jones (1), Cam Buford (1), Will Shoults (1), Braeden Wainwright (1), and Miles Sanders (1) all had hits as the Giants fell for just the 2nd time this fall 4-2.
