8u Giants remain Perfect, bring Home Another Title

The Birmingham Giants 8u Baseball team continued its red hot start to the season, rolling its record to an impressive 14-0 with their recent 5 win tournament in Haleyville on Saturday. Starting their day in pool play, the Birmingham Giants opened with the Druid City Bulls. With hits from Zander Leamon (1), Ross Christy (2), Brody Flack (2), John Bryant Fowler (3), Wesley Morton (3), Lucas Busby (1), Aaron Robinson (1), Justin Hill (2), Blake Freeman (2), Tyson Latham (2), and Kameron Laws (1) the Giants survived a tough Bulls team with a 10-7 win.

For their second game of pool play the Birmingham Giants faced off with the Birmingham Lions. The Giants offense exploded for 15 runs on hits from Zander Leamon (3), Ross Christy (2), Brody Flack (2), Wesley Morton (1), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (2), Blake Freeman (1), Tyson Latham (2), and Kameron Laws (2) as the Giants cruised to a 15-1 win. The win seated the Giants 3rd going into Bracket play.

In their first game of bracket play, the Giants again faced the Druid City Bulls. After trailing most of the game, the Giants used a late inning come back on a triple from Brody Flack to seal the victory. Offensively the Giants posted 25 hits including hits from Zander Leamon (2), Ross Christy (2), Brody Flack (3), John Bryant Fowler (3), Wesley Morton (2), Lucas Busby (2), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (3), Blake Freeman (2), Tyson Latham (1), and Kameron Laws (3) as the Giants prevailed 13-10. The win moved the Giants into the Semi Final to face the Northport Legends.

In a game that was never in question, the Birmingham Giants defense posted a shutout, while the offense provided 13 runs again for the Giants on hits from Zander Leamon (3), Ross Christy (3), Brody Flack (2), John Bryant Fowler (3), Wesley Morton (3), Lucas Busby (3), Aaron Robinson (2), Justin Hill (1), Blake Freeman (1), Tyson Latham (1), and Kameron Laws (1) . The win sent the Giants to the finals once again.

In the Championship game, the Giants again trailed early, but exploding for 11 runs over the final 2 innings led the Giants to the 15-9 win walking away.
Zander Leamon (3), Ross Christy (3), Brody Flack (4), John Bryant Fowler (2), Wesley Morton (3), Lucas Busby (3), Aaron Robinson (3), Justin Hill (3), Blake Freeman (3), Tyson Latham (1), and Kameron Laws (1) all had hits as the Giants offense posted 29 hits and the Giants defense allowed only 16 in the 15-9 win.
